If you are not purchasing packing services, it is important to make sure that your valuable goods are packed properly to avoid any damage. Be sure to have sturdy boxes and to use foam or bubble wrap for all fragile items. The better you pack, the less likely your movers are to accidentally break something.

Labeling boxes! Labeling will make your unpacking process a lot easier, and also allow the movers to operate more efficiently by knowing exactly what room each box belongs to in your new home.

Clean your furniture. Cleaning your furniture will ensure that you are not bringing any unwanted dust or dirt into your new home. Giving you a nice and clean fresh start!

Get rid of items that you’re not moving. Removing items or setting items aside, all in one area, that aren’t making the trip to your new home will give your movers more room to work and will help expedite the process.

Be sure to remove any gas or oil in yard tools. Gas and oil can spill in the back of the truck, and can be extremely flammable.

Plan for moving truck and elevator use in apartments. Be sure to move any vehicles that may be in the way. If you live in an apartment be sure to talk to management to see if there are any requirements or if you have to reserve the elevator for your movers. This will ensure no surprises on moving day.

To The Moon Moving is *fantastic*! They sent a crew of five, and two trucks, to pack and move us from Aransas Pass to San Marcos, TX. Braydon, Ian, Dylan, Logan, and Evan showed up on time and ready to work. And they never stopped working. They took great care packing everything up. We have a lot of … stuff. They packed and moved it all with a smile. The crew was professional, prompt, swift, polite, and worked their tails off for two days. When they got to San Marcos, they unloaded everything carefully, and had zero complaints when we changed our minds and asked them to relocate a few things they’d already placed They also moved a 110 inch mounted marlin for us without a scratch. Previous movers had required us to have a $$custom crate$$ built for that thing. And they did all this in the sweltering Texas heat. In July. These five were some of the hardest working people I’ve seen in my 65 years of life. I was exhausted just watching them. I can’t recommend this company and this crew of great guys highly enough. Everything about moving sucks, but these folks make it all so much better. Thanks guys, and thank you To The Moon Moving Company!
